I know some people have been collecting and appreciating Japanese classics for awhile now, but this seems to be a big step into major collectors territory.

I can't say for suren as I don't follow the collector's market very close, but they definitely seem to be on the way up.

Damn. Just checked, still no K P GC10's up on my auction feed...

( I've been away from Oppo for a spell... is it not letting us put pics in the comments because of the Jezebel graphic gifs thing?)

my FIL had a 1600 fairlady up to the early 90's. Sold it to a Japanese man who planned to restore it in japan. Couldn't blame him, apparently it had many small issues and imagine sourcing parts like that in america before the internet. But I like to imagine sometimes.

definitely, I saw a Toyota 2000 GT and a Mazda Cosmo sell at Gooding's auction last night for $1,050,000 and $240,000 last night, from the same collection. There are a ton of mint FJ cruisers just driving around everywhere too. Hell, one of the best cars at Concours d'LeMons was a Toyota Sports 800!
